As a partner with Vogel, Slade & Goldstein, Ms. Goldstein focuses her practice on False Claims Act and fraud-related cases and internal compliance monitoring.

A veteran trial and appellate attorney, Ms. Goldstein has tried dozens of cases in federal and state courts.  Since 1989, Ms. Goldstein has represented whistleblowers in major procurement and health care fraud cases under the False Claims Act and related wrongful termination lawsuits, resulting in settlements totaling more than $200 million. She also represents companies and organizations, including one of the country’s largest health insurers and a national labor union, in affirmative civil fraud matters.  

Ms. Goldstein has also conducted internal compliance investigations, including investigations on behalf of the U.S. District Court of the District of Columbia. In 2005, Ms. Goldstein served as senior advisor and counsel to the Panel on the Nonprofit Sector-- a national task force of over 125 nonprofit executives, academics and state oversight officials convened to make recommendations to Congress on improving governance and oversight of nonprofit organizations.

Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Goldstein served for ten years as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles and the Department of Justice’s Environmental Crimes Unit where she prosecuted major defense procurement fraud, political corruption, racketeering and environmental crime cases.

Ms. Goldstein is the recipient of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Bronze Medal for outstanding contributions to environmental enforcement, the U.S. Department of Justice Special Achievement Award and U.S. Department of Treasury Director's Award.

Ms. Goldstein has taught trial advocacy at Harvard Law School’s trial advocacy program, the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and the University of Southern California Law Center.

Ms. Goldstein graduated magna cum laude from Brandeis University in 1974 and received her law degree cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1977.
