Robert L. Vogel is a partner with Vogel, Slade & Goldstein, LLP, in Washington, D.C. The primary focus of his practice is the representation of plaintiffs in qui tam cases under the False Claims Act.

Since entering private practice in 1990, Mr. Vogel has represented more than 60 private plaintiffs in cases involving health care, defense, and other types of procurement fraud. From 1987 to 1990, Mr. Vogel represented the United States in significant False Claims Act cases as a trial attorney in the Department of Justice’s civil commercial frauds section, which is the unit responsible for handling False Claims Act litigation throughout the nation.

In 1985-86, Mr. Vogel clerked for the Honorable Frank M. Johnson, Jr., of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Mr. Vogel was graduated from Stanford Law School (J.D. 1985) and Amherst College (B.A. 1981, summa cum laude, majoring in Philosophy).

Mr. Vogel is co-chair of the Procurement Fraud Committee of the ABA Public Contract Law Section, and he previously chaired the ABA’s Health Care Fraud & Abuse Subcommittee of the Committee on Criminal Litigation. He has participated as a speaker or chairperson in more than 50 professional conferences on the False Claims Act, qui tam cases, health care fraud, and procurement fraud, including training conferences for DOJ attorneys.
